Acer aims at both professional and amateur creators with the announcement of ConceptD-- a portfolio of premium desktops, notebooks and a mixed reality headset promising "timeless design language" and "extremely" colour-accurate displays.
“The ConceptD product portfolio was conceived to give creators the tools to focus on the creative process and make beautiful things,” Acer says. “As the foundation of a full line of creator products, we’ve designed PCs with high-performance processors and graphics that can handle extreme workloads, and put them inside quiet, minimalist designs to inspire creators to unleash their creativity.”
The Reno is perhaps most notable for the pop-up selfie camera, housed together with a soft light flash in a wedge-shaped panel. The design allows for a notch-free display, even if the camera lacks a 3D Face ID-style mechanism. Instead, an in-display fingerprint scanner handles security duties. As for selfie camera specs, it carries a 16MP sensor and an f/2.0 lens, and Oppo claims the motorised mechanism lasts up to 5 years even if one flips it up and down 100 times a day.
The speaker carries x4 full-range drivers and 24-bit DSP technology, and connects to audio sources via either Bluetooth 4.2 (complete with aptXHD, ACC, SBC audio codecs and A2DP 1.3.1), USB port or 3.5mm jack. As a result it should be compatible with just about any source, including smartphones, tablets and PCs.
The CinePrime HT5550 offers 3840 x 260 resolution projection with 8.3 million distinct pixels for each frame. It uses 4K-optimised optical system with 6 structured groups of all-glass elements for light transmission, and BenQ says the CinematicColour technology meets 100% of Rec. 706, backed by individual factory colour calibration reports ensuring Delta E=3 colour accuracy.
