OnePlus starts drip-feeding details on its upcoming TV, starting off with the name-- it's "OnePlus TV," shockingly enough-- and an initial September 2019 release date in India, with Europe to follow on a later, unspecified date.

Founder and CEO Pete Lau first took to the OnePlus forums to announce the TV plans back in September 2019. Back then, the promise was of a TV with "premium flagship design, image quality and audio," as well as the capability to "seamlessly connect the home." But why will it first launch in India? As Lau puts it, OnePlus has "a very positive relationship" with content providers in India, ensuring customers in the most populous democracy in the world have plenty to watch on their OnePlus TV.

OtterBox Stacks Batteries in OtterSpot

Smartphone case specialist OtterBox takes on wireless charging with OtterSpot-- a modular wireless charging system consisting of stackable, portable pucks, with each puck adding a 5000mAh capacity battery with an own Qi charging coil.

OtterboxThe OtterSpot package consists of a charging base and one wireless charging battery. The 36W base can charge a stack of three batteries with a phone on top or up to four batteries, if with diminished charging speeds. Once charged, the batteries can be used with any other Qi-enabled device, and are capable of wireless charging speeds of up to 10W. In addition, a USB-C port allows for wired charging.

Panasonic Hides Camera in HomeHawk FLOOR Lamp

Panasonic announces an addition to the HomeHawk home monitoring solution line-- the HomeHawk FLOOR (KX-HNC850), a security camera hiddden inside a fully functional floor lamp.

HomeHawk FLOORAvailable in black satin or gray fabric finishes, the FLOOR lamp features a minimalistic design blending with any existing décor. The simple structure of the lamp also eliminates the need for drilling, cutting or mounting on wall, since customers simply need to plug it any electrical outlet.

Inside the lamp is a camera with a 140-degree wide-angle lens complete with microphone and speaker allowing for two-way communications. It records video in 1080p, and starts pre-recording two seconds before motion is actually detected. Geofencing provides smart control with customisable activity zones, while the addition of 8 AAA batteries allows for backup power.

Elgato Captures HDR With 4K60 Pro MK.2

Elgato 4K ProCorsair-owned Elgato announces the 4K60 Pro MK.2 at Gamescom 2019-- an update on the 2017 4K60 Pro capture card featuring HDR support, as well as game footage capture at 2160p resolution and 60fps.

The 4K60 Pro MK.2 is around half the size of the previous model, yet enables captures to capture 4K video at 60Hz with HDR10 while simultaneously streaming to Twitch at 60Hz. It can also capture 1080p game footage at 240Hz or 1440p footage at 144Hz in the case of dual-PC settings, and supports a maximum bitrate of 140Mbps, higher than that of UHD Blu-ray discs.

HP Shows Off Gaming at Gamescom

HP takes to Gamescom 2019 in Cologne, Germany, to show off the latest in the Omen product range, such as the Omen X 27 monitor and Mindframe Prime headset, as well the first Pavilion-branded AMD-powered gaming laptop.
