To further support the body of evidence, a Gartner study indicates — for the first time — a majority of customers would prefer their PC to a TV if stranded on a desert island.

The powerful 3-minute video features Nike-sponsored stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney, Ronaldinho and Landon Donovan. It focuses on those moments when someone has the opportunity to write their own future by playing exceptionally.

Roger Federer, Kobe Bryant and Homer Simpson make appearances, too (all football fans, say Nike).

Apple recently filed a trademark application that would cover the "distinctive design and layout" of their line of retail stores.

This filing may have Microsoft in mind as most trade papers have commented that Microsoft's retail stores look very similar to Apple's.
