Logitech steps further into streaming with the acquisition of Streamlabs, developer of the popular Streamlabs OBS software. The asking price? A cool $89 million in cash and an additional $29m in stock.

Logitech StreamlabsStreamlabs OBS allows users to broadcast game footage to platforms such as Twitch, YouTube Mixer and Facebook. It also provides tools for users to process and track tips, an in-game overlay adding the in-stream chat and access to themes and streaming applications. Streamlabs says around 1.6 million streamers use the tool, with 161 million hours streamed through it since a January 2018 beta launch. In addition, a mobile version of the app has around 48000 users.

OnePlus (Finally) Debuts TVs

OnePlus follows on the drip-feed of details with the launch of two own-branded TV sets-- the Q1 and Q1 Pro, both featuring a 4K QLED panel with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support running on Android TV.

The choice of OS provides for some interesting integration with OnePlus smartphones, as well as support for both Google Assistant and Alexa. A OnePlus Connect companion app allows users to input text and switch between Android TV apps using the smartphone, and it automatically lowers TV volume when one receives a call on the phone. Chromecast support also comes built-in.

Xiaomi Intros Mi Mix Alpha Concept Phone

Xiaomi claims a number of firsts with the Mi Mix Alpha-- a foldable smartphone featuring a "Surround Screen" with a 180.6% screen-to-body ratio, as well as a 108MP camera able to capture 12032 x 9024 resolution photos.

The Mi Mix Alpha builds on previous Xiaomi experiments in Full Screen Display smartphones, such as the first Mi Mix device. The foldable take on the concept promises construction in a "one-of-a-kind" combination of titanium alloy, ceramics and sapphire, and has the display make nearly the entirety of the front, side and back. The company says the display can withstand the stresses brought about by bending, while a durable protective layer brings further strength.

MSI Adds Clutch Gaming Mouse, Immerse Headset

MSI announces additions to the Clutch gaming mouse series and the Immerse headset family-- the Clutch GM30 mouse with a "gaming-grade" optical sensor and the Immerse GH50 gaming headset with virtual 7.1 surround sound and vibration system.

MSI AccessoriesThe Clutch GM30 is a medium-size rodent with a symmetrical design. It has "Dragon Scale" grips on the side to improve control, while the sensor is a PixArt PAW3327 optical number with resolution reaching up to 6200 DPI. Customers can adjust the resolution using either a dedicated button on the top of the mouse or MSI Dragon Center software.

The mouse has two main buttons featuring Omron micro-switches with a lifespan of 20 million clicks and, being a piece of gaming hardware, RGB lighting. It comes with 8 pre-defined effects, and can be controlled with Dragon Center software to sync lighting with other MSI or 3rd party products.

Epson launches the LS500 Laser Projection TV, a combination of ultra short throw projector and ambient light rejecting screen available in either 100- or 120-inch screen sizes for a complete entertainment solution.

Epson Laser TVThe LS500 is carries Epson 4K PRO-UHD 3LCD technology, and is capable of displaying 4K HDR images with full 10-bit colour processing accepting 100% of the RGB colour signal for every frame, allowing display of the Rec. 709 colour space. Advanced black density control individually pulses the laser light emitted by the Epson Dynamic Laser Array diodes to suppress stray light within the signal, producing a contrast ratio of 2500000:1.
