Euronics says it has the "first place in Europe" when it comes to CE, sales with consolidated turnover for fiscal 2011 growing by 7.1% Y-o-Y and reaching €16.2 billion.
The retailer says W. European sales are up in Austria, Germany and Belgium, but are down in other W. European countries due to sharp price deflation.
The company has more ambitions for the future-- reaching turnover worth €20bn by 2015. It attributes the results to successful addressing of current demand (entry-level products at competitive prices and high-end devices), streamlined internal structure and "privileged relationships" within the channel.
Euronics operates 11000 stores and 6000 dealerships in 31 countries, including 25 EU members.
According to GfK, 2011 European CE turnover amounts to €224.9bn with 0.4% Y-o-Y growth primarily driven by sales within E. Europe.
