Different Shades of Green

PDFPrintE-mail

It’s time to expose Green for what it is. Like in real life, “green” comes in many shades. You’ve probably noticed these days how your hotel plays a Green card to trump its guests. A placard placed strategically in your hotel bathroom might read: “We join the hotels of the world who want to help our environment. If you leave your towel on the rack, you can help save the world. If you need it washed each day, then throw it in the tub, you selfish sob.” Part of you wants to help the world (and it really needs help.) And part of you knows the hotel (despite its high rates) wants you to help it save money and enhance hotel profits. What do you do? If you are a Libra like me, you probably throw it in the washtub on some days and save the world on other days. Others unshackled by their Birth Signs may decisively commit to one choice or the other.

Neo Ellipse Comes to Europe

PDFPrintE-mail

With its main office in Dubai, Neo will launch its newest handset, the Neo Ellipse, in Europe and Russia in November 2008.  The Ellipse features a 2” screen, 2MP camera, 1Gb memory expandable to 8Gb, MP3 & MP4 player, email, WAP, and many more great specs that places the device into the mid to high range feature phone category. "

What sets the Ellipse apart from other mobile phones? According to MD, Brad McMechan it's  "the unique design that resembles a sculpture more than it does a mobile phone."

Neo,  with a brand ethos of “Your Style",  designed a phone pleasantly unique from other phones in the market.  The phone measures 110x44x15 mm, with a semi reflective dark finish and a molded chrome center spine. The phone is 15mm thick at the very center and tapers down to 3mm on each end.  "This gives it an illusion of being sliced out of an elliptical shape hence giving it the name, The Neo Ellipse," says McMechan.

Neo has been aggressively expanding their distributor base in EMEA . During the summer months they have signed up distributors/agents in Russia, India, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. As well as opening up a support office in India, Neo is also in discussions with several distributors and network operators in Europe and expect to have deals finalized in the very near future.

Neo will be exhibiting at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2009 and will be unveiling even more phones at that time.

Marmitek Intros GigaVideo580

The GigaVideo580 is a video transmitter to send the images from your hard disk recorder, satellite receiver or digital TV decoder to a second TV in your house.

Most video transmitters operate on the 2.4GHz frequency band. The GigaVideo580 is an exception to this. It sends the audio and video signal via the 5.8GHz frequency band. The difference between video transmitters with a 2.4GHz signal and a 5.8GHz signal is that this last one doesn’t interfere with other devices in the house at the 2.4GHz frequency band (like WiFi, Bluetooth, cordless telephones and even microwave ovens).
