Panasonic follows on the CES 2020 launch of the flagship HZ2000 OLED TV with the announcement of three OLED and three 4K LCD TV series for 2020, all offering Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ support.

The OLED TVs-- the  HZ2000, HZ1500 and HZ1000 series-- support both Dolby Vision IQ and a Film Maker mode with Panasonic "Intelligent Sensing" to bring what the company claims is "Hollywood-level" HDR performance in both dark and well-lit living rooms. The HZ2000 and HZ1500 series TVs also feature built-in upward-firing speakers capable of pushing immersive Dolby Atmos audio, and all OLED models have the same fine tuning by Hollywood colourist Stefan Sonnenfield as well as UHD Premium certification.

Sony Working on PSVR Headset Sequel?

According to Bloomberg, Sony is working on a sequel to the PlayStation VR headset, set for release after the launch of the PlayStation 5-- meaning it will probably hit the market sometime on 2021.

Playstation VRA followup to the PSVR headset makes sense. After all, the PS5 promises to be backwards compatible with PS4 games, providing it with a ready library or VR-enabled software. One also has to keep in mind the original PSVR headset was a success, with sales reaching over 5 million units, meaning consumers should be ready for a more powerful version. That said, no details are available regarding the capabilities of such a sequel, but the 2017 "CUH-ZVR2" model hints at features such as better cable management, a slimmer connection cable and an updated processor box with HDR passthrough support.

Marshall Adds Active Noise Cancellation in Monitor II Headphones

Guitar amp maker Marshall announces an addition to the Monitor range of over-ear headphones-- the Monitor II ANC, featuring the same retro look as the previous models while including active noise cancellation (ANC).

Like other Monitor headphones, the Monitor II ANC are all black with a single gold multi-function knob providing play/pause, skip track, EQ preset and volume control. It is also the power button, and allows one to answer or reject calls. The built-in microphone also provides access to Google Assistant. One can also use the companion Marshall mobile app for control.

Quad-Camera Arrays for LG K Series

LG announces the 2020 K series lineup of mid-tier smartphones-- namely the K61, K51S and K41S-- features upgraded cameras capabilities through a rear-facing quad-camera array, as well as "improved all-round performance."

A first for the K series, the camera array consists of a high-resolution main camera, wide angle lens, depth sensor and macro lens. The highest-end model, the K61, gets a 48MP main lens, making it a first as far as LG smartphones are concerned (many flagship smartphones from the company, such as the G8 ThinQ have 12MP lenses). Meanwhile the K51S has a 32MP main lens, meaning it also surpasses many LG smartphones.
