Wireless device specialist Parrot has 40m euros in the bank-- and is looking for ways to spend it, according to a Reuters interview.
The company wants to either strengthen its portfolio or add a new product to its line up. It also has a strong cash base (of almost 91m euros by 2010's end, Reuters says) addressing possible risks, part of which will go for external growth.
Parrot is known for its hands-free phone kits and internet-enabled car stereo devices, with the likes of Renault-Nissan, Ford, Volkswagen and BMW making part of its clients. It's doing fairly well in the business, with new contracts from Japanese and US carmakers.
It also recently launched the AR.Drone, an iDevice-controlled "quadricopter" (as in a helicopter with x4 rotors). It carries x2 cameras (one facing front, the other the ground) feeding video to the iDevice over wifi. Reuters says its sales reached 120000 in 2010.
